What a joke!

Is it the Canucks’ fault there is a large d-bag contingent among the citizens of Vancouver? Spoiled, entitled bitches who think they own the world and can destroy anything they want for amusement.

And not enough cops on the street, and poor planning! Were the Canucks supposed to send the Rogers Arena security staff to keep things in line?

*sigh* Its one thing to ask the team nicely if it would mind helping pay the cost of the riots. After all the team did financialy benefit from the game and all. However, if the team choose to do so it would only be out of the goodness of the owners heart. This on the other hand, almost makes it sound like the team and the NHL HAVE to, or SHOULD, pay the bill. Thats just idiotic.

I swear, the mayor and city council of Vancouver don’t have a clue. If they are determined to get help paying the bill, why not hit the rioters with heavy fines… or better yet, sue them for a part of the cost? Thats where the blame belongs… on the people who took to the streets that night. Not with the team, or the NHL.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again…. stay classy Vancouver.

Maybe the police should have the repair costs taken out of their budget considering they don’t like to use it for policing. Instead they blame the fact that there were too many people downtown not the fact that there was not enough Police. The Canadian government has been stealing from peoples pockets for years why not the NHL too? Pretty pathetic
much like the idea that the Canucks should help pay for this. Canucks already raise money for kids to cover medical budget shortfalls.

Why not make the a-holes who took part in all of this pay for some of the damage? The day after the finals people were all over the internet identifying these people, some even turned themselves in, yet there haven’t been any charges.

Why doesn’t the city of Vancouver just admit that inviting “anyone and everyone” down into a very congested area to watch the game on big screen tv’s, and then allowing them to drink freely was a bad idea?

Quit pointing fingers at everyone else, you screwed up in setting up areas with mass amounts of people, your police department didn’t have enough officers on duty and didn’t respond appropriately once things went bad, admit you dropped the ball here and promise to ensure that something like this won’t happen again.

I wonder if the city of Vancouver is aware that by passing the buck to everyone else to try and save face they’re making themselves look much much worse?

Why not tab the Boston Bruins as well? Afterall, it was their 4-0 smack down of the Canucks in game 7 that started the ball…err….puck rolling.

It’s a good thing the Canucks only get there every two decades or so.
