Im not a Pit or Washington fan really, but I dont think its fair to talk about Ovechkins Capitals choking, while holding up Lemieux as an example of how to win a cup. The Penguins actually missed the playoffs 4 out of the first 5 years Lemieux played. I guess Mario was choking those years? Not to mention when they actually did win the cup, they had a super star team. Lets not forget Jagr was probably the 4th best player at the time... that sure helped. Ovehckin really hasn't had a whole lot of help in Washington, and without help Mario would never have won the cup. Plain and simple.

With that said I don't think theres much argument about Lemieux being on hell of a player... and a tough SOB (physicaly anyway, mentaly he use to be a whiner like Crosby... and still is). I still wouldn't say he makes Ovechkin or Crosby look average. Ovechkins numbers are pretty damn good at a time when scoring is a tough thing to do.

James?

Lighten up on a huge choke artist like O? Whether it's his weight or between the ears, he's PROVEN to be a regular season wonder, at the very best.

With all the 'O' hype, no one should lighten up....except him.

Last time I checked, it's their bodies isn't it? Should they take care of their bodies? Of course. They really don't have any reason not to especially since they have the money, resources and trainers. But who I am to get all worked up because someone else isn't 'perfectly' fit.

The great, the one and only, Mario Lemieux makes Ovechkin look average. Lemieux was a super-duper star exceeded in skill only by The Great One, Wayne Gretzky. I'm no fan of the Penguins and I don't hate the Capitals, but Ovechkin's Capitals have choked numerous times while Lemieux elevated his already great game to supernatural levels countless times. That said, as a fan of hockey, I hope to see Ovechkin get to the finals, and I hope Sid The Kid Crosby comes back strong.
