Bob would have to clear waivers first. Which we both know that won’t happen. So the Flyers have two (reasonable) options: Have Bob as the backup or trade him for pick(s) and/or prospect(s).

I’d rather Leighton back up Bryz than Bobrovsky. Bob is 22 years old and needs reps, which he won’t get with Bryz in front of him, so let him play reguarly in Adirondack. If Bryz gets hurt, Bob is your starter, but either way I’d like Leighton to be with the big club, backing up someone.

No, he just isnt that good. He had his five minutes of fame, but i think its over. He will probably get a backup job eventually though

What Sack67 is saying is that when we need Leighton the most, 2010 Stanley Cup Finals, he didn’t pull through. That’s why he hasn’t stared more than 35 games in one season. People forget that this is his SECOND stint with the Flyers (2006-2007 he played 4 games with us). He is a backup that can get hot for a quick minute.

Leighton isn’t forgotten. He is what he is: a back up goalie. He is a poor man’s Booooooooch. Both these ‘tenders show signs of brilliance but can’t consistently perform. He may back up in Philly but that will only happen due to injury. Otherwise, its Adirondack or another NHL team.
