The Bruins pay a lot but they pay the right players. NYR pays a lot, buy to the wrong players. Sabres have overpaid some players like Pominville and Vanek (they done play like $5m and $7.3m players) and still have dead weight around like Hecht. Boyes needs to show more too. He’s making $4m. All tolled, that’s a lot of money for average to below average production.

Higher payments to talented players, higher turnovers to team looking to steal your talent, higher expectations from the fans.

The Sabres are spending up to & over the cap, so I see them as the next SC champs.
