You are nuts if you think that the game was the same when Gretzky played as it is now. There’s no denying he was the best ever but the game has changed and so have the numbers players will put up. In my opinion you can’t really compare each generation on the numbers as much as you can on the impact and dominance of that particular era.

For the love of god! Can’t the media just let these players develop and become who they will become?! Why does everyone have to be the next someone?

In Canada Crosby is force fed to us as being Gretzky 2.0 despite the fact that he’s obviously not! People can make this arguement after he puts up 200+ points in a season or scores 93 goals in a year, until then, he’s not the next Gretzky!

This kid is gonna be the next Nathan MacKinnon the way Crosby is the next Sidney Crosby.

Do you plan on the Jets stinking out loud in 3 years? Because if the kid is as good as Crosby he is going 1st overall. That has been a spot owned by Edmonton the past few years.

I remember back when the Vancouver media was saying how a 14 year old Gilbert Brule was going to be the second coming of Gretzky. Didn’t work out.

It’ll be interesting to see how this kid turns out.

I heard the kid could score from just about anywhere on the ice & often, I’d plan on the W. Jets taking him in a few years.

I can see how the comparisons are inevitable. A little weird almost. The years 14 through 18 are, shall we say, rather dynamic. I wouldn’t be the farm on anything yet. Quite a mind game for a 15 year old.
