one decent season from crawford is not enough to consider them an elite team. it will take a few years for this team to mesh and for crawford to get some experience before they will “rise to the top again”

You make it sound like there’s no such thing as a salary cap. The fact they had to do that was part of the reason Dale Tallon is in Florida right now.

The only teams that challenged the Canucks were the Hawks and the Bruins. The Hawks are an elite team and they should contend for the Cup for the next several years.

Rise to the top? Well maybe that would be possible if the team didn’t have a fire sale after they won the cup.
