I never thought it made any sense for the Big ten to have a hockey conference, your taking away natural rivals in UM-ND, St Cloud-Minnesota, etc, now it gets even worse by ripping the rest of the conference apart, all in the name of the mighty dollar.

Clearly the schools in Minnesota and Michigan who are not Big 10 school get screwed on this deal. My guess 12 remaining schools in both conferences merge into either the WCHA or CCHA, and which other conference is left out gets dissolved. Hard to think the WCHA, which is/was the best college hockey conference will be gone. Alaska-Anchorage, Alaska-Fairbanks, Bemidji State, Bowling Green, Ferris State, Lake Superior, Michigan Tech, Minnesota State-Mankato, Northern Michigan, Notre Dame, St. Cloud State, and Western Michigan just doesn’t scream tough/major college hockey conference. In all respect to St. Cloud State and Notre Dame.
