Cannonblast – you missed my point totally. I am sure he wanted to be on a contending team and the Caps are definitely contenders now! My point was that his agent only got him $1.5 mil…I am sure that Yzerman would have offered him $3 mil over multiple years to be the starter for a very good team but his agent didn’t let the league know he was available and want his terms were until too late!

Even if the Caps were his only choice, his agent got him a dela that is way below his value and if he were my agent, I would have fired him!

if he can give the capitals solid, consistent goaltending then theyre set. that has been the one thing missing from every capitals playoff run. add it to the equation and they will be even scarier to face in the playoffs next year

Bryz isnt an aging goalie? Remember, part of those Vokoun stats came in Florida with a horrible team in front of him

They really only traded Carter to get Bryz, not the other guys. And keep in mind Philly wanted a long term answer at goalie, not another 1 year rental of an aging goalie. And as far as a “far better” goalie goes. Bryzgalov career GAA: 2.53 and SV% of .916 Vokoun Career GAA: 2.56 and SV% of .917. So really not that huge of a difference, except vokoun is like 4 years older. Will be interesting to see how both of these dudes do now that they’re in markets that actually get paid attention to.

If I were Vokoun, my agent would be fired! Roloson gets $3 mil and he only gets $1.5 mil! I bet if Yzerman knew that Vokoun would be that cheap, he would have paid $3 mil to Vokoun in a heart-beat.

LOL!! Philly trades away (dumps) Richards, Carter, Leino, and whoever else to ink Bryzgalov to the big deal…and DC gets a far better goalie for all 1.5M.
