Kovalev won’t be back. He’s over 40 and would probably ask for too much money. As for Kennedy, the only reason why he scored 20 goals because of the injuries to Malkin and Crosby. He is not a top 6 and belongs more in a grinder, 3rd line, role. With that said, I think it becomes essential the Pens sign Jagr. He can immediately contribute on the Power Play and play alongside either Crosby or Malkin.

and i will be stunned if kovalev comes back…unless of course he takes a major pay cut to play with crosby and make a cup run

i hope rupp will stay, asham needs to go though. kennedy scored 20 goals, he will want some money and deservedly so. talbot and asham go and kennedy and rupp should stay. i love max but he hasnt done much since game 7.

This signing officially marks the end for Talbot and Rupp in Pittsburgh. Both good decisions. Now Pittsburgh can focus their attention to bringing back Kennedy and attempting to sign Jagr.
