Thats right Montreal, lets criminalize hockey. Every time a player throws a hit that happens to hurt someone, we can arrest them and charge them with assault. Great idea!

Seriouslly now, do the Montreal police really have so little to do that they actually have time for this? Or are they just butt-hurt still because Boston knocked their ass out of the playoffs? Either way they should be ashamed of themselves for trying to make a criminal matter out of something that was clearly just a hockey play with a bad result.

He unintentionally drove his head into the turnbuckle. . . right . . .uh uh …. not buying it. . . Chara saw an opportunity to crush a guy he had some recent bad blood with and he took it. The forearm to the back of the head forcing him into that turnbuckle is not so “unintentional”. Unless, you play for the same team Campbell, Jr does. Then the whole league office looks the other way to support the bosses kid.
Imagine if Campbell was commissioner of the league – Yikes!!! Every one would be sending Boston multiple first round picks to get that guy on their team.

Is there no crime or are the Police in Montreal this vigilant on every case? this happened like 6 months ago and was on national TV/media sites repeatedly since. Hell, Chara was even in Montreal for 3 games in the Playoffs. Sounds like the Montreal Po-Po needs an upgrade in their investigation techniques.

Most likely there is a lot of real crime occurring that they are missing while busy wasting their time investigating Mr. Chara.

I still think he should have been suspended for at least 1 game (being on the NHL’s golden team of the year kept him on the ice) but this is just ridiculous. Move on already, the new league year starts on Friday. What’s done is done. Pacioretty will be back next year and seek his own retribution. (Hint: Go for the knees Max – chop that tree down – but be prepared to sit for 3 games).

right: Chara’s was unintentional, just an unfortunate area along the boards. Rome’s was intentional and cowardly. if we’re measuring this based on Pacioretty’s injuries, then shouldn’t they open up a case on Steve Tuttle inadvertently slashing Malarchuck’s throat?
