They should have moved him at the deadline. Having three young capable goaltenders sounds nice, but in this situation it caused confusion about who the number one guy would be. Teams that want to make a real run at the cup need a go-to goalie the team can rally around, even if hes not playing that well on a particular night. Examples on opposite ends on the spectrum are Boston and Philly.

I think they should sign a veteran backup for Neuvy for one more year so Holtby can get more playing time.

Let him walk, Varly a goalie with great skills but is consistently injured. I think they'd resign him for the right price just in case Neuvy or Holtby proved not to be the real deal. I think if Neuvy plays well this season and proves he can be a #1, Varly would be shipped out at the trade deadline.

I could see the Caps going with Neuvy and Holtby. I think Holtby has earned his shot after last season. That would put Sabourin in Hershey, potentially with Todd Ford. Don't know if they could bring Soberg over from Sweden for this season. If they did, it would give him a few years of development before Grubauer and Anderson are eligible for the AHL.

Don't know that they'd bring a veteran in, unless they want to so that Holtby can come back to Hershey for playing time.
