Everyone thought I was crazy for saying they should have traded Mike Green two seasons ago when he built up all this "hype." He scored goals... as a defenseman... for a team that had plenty other players for the opposing defense to focus on.

Mike Green is HORRIBLE on defense. I'm sure he's lost plenty of value on the trade market, but the Capitals would still be better-off getting whatever they can for him, along with making a coaching change.

The Capitals had a dream scenario this season with the Penguins having injuries to all sorts of starters. They didn't have to face their nemesis(Crosby and the Pens) in the playoffs, they didn't run into an unbelievable hot goaltender(Halak), and they still found a way to choke. The culture had to change, and the fastest way to do that is get Bruce B. out of there for someone new and fresh.

Well, as much as I like Laich, he isn't worth what he gets or will want in a new deal. If he wants to return for 3m or so, fine sign him but at 4m or more? Pass.
