With everything hanging on tonight’s game in Vancouver from Rogers Arena, it’s only right that we’re here to share in the game with you guys and bring it all together for the final game of the season in which we’ll see some hardware trotted out on the ice.

We’ll be observing, snarking, poking fun and most of all riding the waves of emotion all night long for as long as the game goes and through the celebrations.

So mark your calendars (as if you haven’t already) starting at 8 p.m. ET join us here at PHT for the live chat during Game 7. We know you’re going to be watching it anyhow, so just join us while you do that.

The only NHL games I ever tune in are the annual “winter classics”, because the environment is always electric and the games too important to the leagues relationship with the network (as the network and the league reach out to an audience that otherwise would never tune in), for the designated goon fights to break out.

I will though tune in tonight’s Stanley Cup final because of all the buzz about “good vs. evil”, to the extent that maybe a real NHL style game will break out with someone hitting an opponent over the head with a stick, a goalie being given a cheap shot to his kidneys, or somebody getting elbowed away from the puck just to knock half the guys teeth out! Such a nice family sport.

I only wish that I could see the game “NHL style”. You know… plopped on the couch with the broken spring in a trailer with my pit-bull dog Bubba at my side, my gun across my lap downing a couple of twelve packs of cheap malt liquor not even caring where I misplaced my dentures! NHL fans… none other like ‘em!

The only thing that baffles me about the NHL’s hard core fans is why, what with all of the Euro’s in their game, they haven’t yet caught on to throwing urine bombs onto the ice?
