hystoracle: I hear you.

Even when he's playing against "your" team he's still mesmerizing with the puck.

I've been known to watch him score a goal against us, start the half cheer, "Wow! That was amaz...." and then remember that I'm wearing a red jersey and that my goalie kid is shooting daggers at me because he had scored against Halak, or Price.

(She shows her true colours in other ways though: she's got the Olympic "Golden Goal" poster on her wall too!)

Hockey, what a game!

I'm sure he will nervous until he gets through that first body check without any problems.

It would be sad to see such a great player have to cut their career short because of concussion problems. Hopefully, he will be in there next year so the bolts can beat him on the scoreboard. Hate to have him play against my team but he is a great guy to watch on the ice.

This is TERRIFIC news! We hope that everyone (media) gives him the space and and privacy that he really needs to heal at his own pace. We're third generation Canadiens fans but Crosby adds SO much to the game both on and off the ice.

With the extensive research and news coming to light about the severity of concussions, and their short and long term damage, there needs to be a major shift in the thinking of the officials as well as the coaches and players of all ages. Our daughter is a 7-year old goalie and she and her teammates are already getting the message: avoid the injury with best training and equipment because it's a potentially career-ending/life-altering injury and that it needs the proper respect and care for recovery if the worst happens.

VERY glad that Eric Lindros and others have been so forthright about the old attitudes ("shake it off") vs. the new understanding ("it's an assaut on the brain"). The excellent cover story in Macleans magazine two weeks ago is a really good read at:
