Want to know why they have it scheduled the way they do? Try coming out of your little NHL shell. The NBA Finals are also being played over the same timeframe. Hockey goes primarily Monday-Wednesday-Saturday. The NBA goes Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday. So quit b*tching. One game virtually EVERY night for the next two weeks in one of these two great sports. This is the best scheduling these two could have possibly come up with. Hopefully both go seven games.

I agree. To far apart are the games. I’m just so glad that some of the games are going to be shown on a major network. NBC prime time

Ending the playoffs on June 15th is waaaay too late. They should end May 15.

Its delayed till June 1st because the NHL has to make the announcement that the Thrashers are coming to Winnipeg on the Monday…. I just hope its a 4 game sweep for either team cause I just want to shave my playoff beard that I had to grow for charity.

What is wrong with the NHL?! are they deliberately trying to stretch out the schedule so that people will forget hockey exists? TB-Bos game 7 is Friday — why delay the first playoff game to Wednesday, and then a three day break? its bad enough that the Stanley cup goes into June, but does the entire series have to be played in June. The schedule should be that the first game is Tues., May 31, and each successive game is two days later. That leaves a potential game 7 on Sunday, June 12. It also provides consistent hockey without three day breaks.
