Thornton and the Sharks failed to elevate their games enough to beat a slightly better team. This postseason, while not as bad as some for the Sharks, does nothing to erase any of the past either. They have proven they can lose to lousy teams and good teams. Congratulations, here is you non-trophy.

I’m starting to wonder if either Tampa or my beloved Bruins can hope to win four against this squad… and to think, a few weeks ago I thought the Canucks were looking like speedbumps in the way of the Blackhawks.

I’ll be very interested to see what comes of Kesler, however- that could be a big problem if he misses any time, though the extra rest the Canucks earned should help with whatever ails them.

Poise is as important as skill in the playoffs…maybe even more so. The Sharks frustration showed and the Canucks and Bieksa behaved like Champions.

7. The better team doesn’t always win…on paper the Sharks were better. Good game 5, but see point 6 above for games 1, 2, and 4.
