We don’t even know what Mr. Boogaard died from. It could have been a heart attack or something else unrelated to fighting. It won’t start any debate about fighting unless an autopsy shows his death was due to bleeding in the brain or some other brain injury. Stop jumping the gun…

Agree, heck, there are entire “sports” dedicated solely to pounding on another person. I dont think a few hockey fights are a serious issue. And..there is no (zero, none) evidence currently linking this tragic news to a head injury. Please stop.

So let me get this straight. Hockey has been around for a 100 years and fighting has always been a part of it. In those 100 years a very small number of guys such as Probert and Kordic, have died young. Both of whom were enforcers but also unfortunately drug abusers and alcoholics which do a number on your brain as well. Another tragic loss in Boogie, which we don’t even know why yet, and fighting needs to be looked at? Are you serious? Guys get killed by getting hit in the throat with slap shots, should we look into taking out pucks too?

RIP boogaard but yeah I have to agree the concussion thing is something that is gonna be talked about and this is gonna really start the debate about fighting in hockey again.
