I don’t read that blog – pretty much read and write only a couple few places.

It’s true about the franchise and is expected – hopefully the Lions are on their way to some of the same. Red Wings success has been our reward for having to watch the Lions for the past 20 years, but seems like that’s changing.

It would be nice to see the Sharks and fans not get overjoyed about beating the Red Wings again, and actually finish the journey with Stanley Cup raised at the end. The Canucks aren’t playing with enough confidence or drive to beat the Sharks, and Boston doesn’t match up against them well. This could be the year.

Snowing the goalie? What – did you see one comment on that? That’s not whining, it’s a fact, but nobody said it was the reason for the 3-0 Wings hole.

Your transfer of emotions is very cute though.

I have no frustration, only some mild disappointment this year. The Wings have performed incredibly for 20 years for Hockytown fans.

Big game for the Sharks yesterday and the 3 assists from Joe were huge. Joe Thornton has to continue to play the same way and help lead his team to the Stanley Cup. They can’t do it without a solid performance throughout from. I don’t think they need him to be super Joe of the regular season but definitely better than he has been. He can’t let the ghosts of playoffs past haunt him and it seems that this playoffs he’s doing a pretty good job of that. He’s got a real good team around him. And I gotta be honest, I cheer against the Sharks just cuz it’s kind of fun to see them flop every year but really it’s good for Joe because he’s a class act. They better not lose this one because I can’t imagine how Joe’s legacy will suffer even more. Gonna be an interesting rest of the NHL playoffs for sure.

This game, while still being a 1 goal game was far more competitive than the first two. The first two games saw the Sharks dominate hug stretches of the game with Jimmy Howard being the only thing that kept the wings close. This game however, the Sharks appeared the lesser team for large portions of the game. But they pulled it out, and in so doing San Jose is beginning to change the perception around the league of who and what they are, especially in the playoffs. Detroit has been a worthy opponent. The Sharks are just a little younger, tougher and hungrier.

Go read Able to Yzerman sometime if you don’t think Red Wings fans whine. That blog never gives any team credit for beating the Wings, it simply blames the refs nearly every time.

The Red Wings are the best run franchise, not just in hockey, but in all of pro sports. They are the model, and their fans have a sense of entitlement these day. That’s probably why the rest of us take such glee in watching them lose.

Its funny for how great round 1 was that in round 2 we have a sweep and two series that are on the brink of a sweep. Thats not to say the games havne’t been good just different.

For San Jose and Washington being everyones whipping boys, one is about to take the next big step and the other is on the golf course. I think we are looking at a San Jose-Boston cup final.
