In the end you can’t argue against Luongo on the winningest team with the Jennings already secured. They had to have someone from the West AND someone from Canada. You also can’t argue against Pekka who was phenominal in a market that doesn’t scream “hockey hotbed.” I’d love to see his numbers on a perennial contender.

In the end it’s an honor to be a finalist, but the award goes to Tim Thomas. 2.00 and .938 are aided by the defensive force that is Zdeno Chara, but there is such a gap between him and anyone else in contention for this award that no one should have any argument that he doesn’t deserve this.
