The Kunitz hit the other night is a prime example, in which a very very very weak suspension was handed out for what was clearly a directed elbow to the head with the intent to cause injury. If that didn’t scream 5 games (yes, 5 PLAYOFF games) I don’t know what does.

I will say this… he is right about the hits on Crysby. I still see Pittsburgh fans whining about them, and its really annoying since neither one was close to suspenable. One (during the winter classic) was an accidental collision with absolutely no intent by Steckel to hit him. It only looks bad when viewed from the side… but watching the hit from any other angle and you can clearly see Steckel looking up ice away from Crosby, and then they collide. Thats why there was no suspension there. The other hit was just a light tap into the boards… and Campbell is right in this case that its a joke to think it was a suspendable play.

No wonder the NHL doesn’t know which end is up when it comes to implementing changes to protect players and avoid head shots. If this guy is running the discipline show, the NHL is in trouble and they would be wise to move him out and bring in somebody who would be constructive rather than combative. Yikes!

That Torres hit on Seabrook the other night was legal?????? Gimme a freakin’ break. If head shots are a no no if you throw one, you sit…simple as that. It doesn’t matter what part of YOUR anatomy you use. If you nail a guy in the head, you sit. How complicated is that? Either you’re trying to make a statement or you’re not. THIS AIN’T ROCKET SCIENCE!
