What I see in Detroit is the team penalized the least, but commits infractions constantly. I remember calling for his head, but anymore I just feel bad for Bertuzzi. I mean do you really think he was trying to break the guys neck? Yeah he was going in for a cheap shot and a sucker punch, and I still believe he should be held responsible for his actions, but I just have to believe if TB had one moment to take back it’d be that one. I’d be much bitterer than he is if my entire career was defined by one really stupid mistake.

if the NHL doesn’t suspend Bertuzzi for a minimum of 10 reg season games with 1 playoff series, they’ll just prove that the only reason they felt like suspending Cooke wasn’t because of his hit, but because Mario had the brass to call them out. and let me be clear, Cooke deserved his suspension, but so do lots of others. (Gillies shouldn’t have been allowed to set foot in the NHL or AHL after the Federal league BS he performed against Tangradi)

let’s look at some parallels, shall we?

Cooke: made a cheap-shot(though legal) that has effectively ended a career in the past. went several seasons without being suspended and only doing annoying little “barnaby/avery-style” things. then blatantly elbowed a guy in the head and got 10+a playoff round
