Each week at ProHockeyTalk we’ll have NBC on NHL’s Mike Milbury join us with Hot Topics to discuss the latest stories of the week and give us his thoughts on what’s going on in the NHL.

This week, Mike talks with Tiffany Simons about how Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is running out of time to help the Penguins out this season. As time whittles away and Crosby isn’t able to skate or practice with the team as he recovers from a concussion, the chances of him even playing again this season dwindle.

Mike Milbury knows about as much about hockey as a kid growing up in New Mexico. For someone that gets paid to know the game and the players, one would think he’d understand the impact that Sidney Crosbey would have just being in the dressing room let alone playing in a game this season. He should also know the severity of Crosby’s injuy. The guy has no clue what a concussion is let alone the affect it has on someone, maybe he’s suffered one too many. For him to say without Crosby the Penguins are not a serious contender irks every player on every team. Ask any player if they want to face the Penguins in the playoffs. They are a desparate hockey team with young talent that wants to prove everyone wrong. Are they good enough? yet to be determined but they have heart and tenacity that most teams don’t have. They’ve managed to maintain without Crosby and Malkin but time will tell if they can continue or if they’ll need to.

Hopefully the Caps get Shittsburgh first round this year so we can put em out of their misery early
