The city of Glendale and her tax payers are screwed. In one scenario they are on the hook for giving a fat discount to help sell the team. Or, they are stuck with a vacant arena with no hope of paying for it with no major tenants.

Winnipeg might get the team but it makes no sense for the long term. Yeah, the dollar is weak and resource rich countries like Canada are in a good position right now, but there’s just no way a team in a city of 700K people is going to be competitive, much less survive. Even with every man, woman, and child becoming an NHL fan.
