@ jpelle82 Are you kidding me? You must be drinking the black and gold kool-aid because steckel even tried to avoid him!! Watch the video especially the second view where he was trying to get around him… Are you telling me that you’re a better judge of this hit that the sportscasters and a very biased NHL review booth?? Nope… Enjoy. It sucks he’s out, but lets not call it a dirty hit just because its Cindy Crosby…

crosby didnt collide with steckel…his back was to him and steckel drove threw him with his shoulder. stecks was in the drivers seat on that one…pretty obvious head shot if you watch it again dude.

I’m not saying Crosby is a whiner, actually, even as a Flyers fan I respect him and I think his reputation is unwarranted (Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, and Lindros all got the same reputation when all they really were guilty of was being incredibly gifted teenagers with a peer group of grown men) but if he tells the NHL “I’ll take my ball and go home” because he wanted someone suspended for hitting him he’s not going to do a lot for his reputation. If you want that kind of star treatment you should play basketball.

That is utter garbage clusterpuck. Neither of the hits on Crosby were illegal, or at least suspendable. Crosby colided with David Steckel, who happens to be a big guy… but the hit was clearly not intentional. If you watch the play, Steckel was not even looking at Crosby and just braced when Crosby ran into him…. nothing sinister there.

The Victor Hedman hit was a bit dirty, and worthy of a 2 minute penelty. However, it was not a directed hit to the head by any means and Hedman made a clear effort to hold up. If he wanted to, Hedman could have really run Crosby… but despite Crosby being a whiner that no one likes, he held off. If Crosby wasn’t already hurt from the Steckel hit, the Hedman hit would have been completely moot.

Bottom line is Crosby is just pissy because hes injured. Rest assured however, if there was the slightest chance either hit was close to dirty, the league would have taken action. They will do everything they can to protect Crosby… and due to his whining from this, I feel sorry for anyone who even looks at Crosby funny the rest of the year. Crosby already gets the benifit of every doubt from the refs, and they constantly ignore his out right diving/complaining… but now, hes REALLLLY going to be protected by the refs.

NHL should crack down on the head shots just like the NFL has. Trust me everyone is going to be head hunting him now trying to knock him out for the playoffs.
