The NHL allowing unlimited fan voting kind of ruins this. Though, in truth, I'd rather have seen the two captains from last year's stanley cup contenders be the captains, and have them choose their rosters from the entire pool of players, rather than the league office dictating the players. Would Toews have taken Crosby or his teammate Keith? Or would he have taken a different Blackhawk? Would the captains actually try to build something of a team so a guy like Blair Betts or Powe would have a chance, knowing Richards might take a grinder late in the draft? I think it would have been much more interesting that fans from two teams that couldn't fill a fishbowl 5 years ago stuffing the box and then the league office decreeing who is worthy and who is not.

I can't believe that "Z" didn't make it. His stats are way better than Sharp and Kane from Chicago and also Kesler from Vancouver. Not to mention he is one of the best two way forwards in the league. Typical NHL. Just doesn't make any sense. Obviously, he stepped disappointed someone somewhere. Oh well there is always the Karma factor.
