David Backes added an empty-netter for the Blues’ only “even-strength” goal. St. Louis would have had more shots if not for a succession of trips to the sinbin; they got one penalty for “faceoff infraction”, for Pete’s sake! (Did you know that if’n ya have two guys tossed from the circle in a row, it’s a delay-of-game penalty? I didn’t… until last night!)
