Check out the probable goalies for tonight's first eight games.

Whether you’re interested for fantasy hockey reasons or just want to know which goalie your team is playing in a given day, we thought it might be helpful to share our best guesses (based on various previews from newspapers and Web sites plus our own instincts) on who might start each day.

7:00 PM ET games

Tampa Bay @ NY Islanders

Likely Tampa Bay starter: Dan Ellis (Source: Erik Erlendsson.)

Likely NY Islanders starter: Dwayne Roloson – There are some rumors that Rick DiPietro injured himself recently, so Rolo will try to start a new era in Long Island with a win. (Source: Katie Strang.)

Boston @ NY Rangers

Likely Boston starter: Tim Thomas (Source: Fluto Shinzawa.)

Likely NY Rangers starter: Henrik Lundqvist (Source: Andrew Gross.)

Vancouver @ Pittsburgh

Likely Vancouver starter: Roberto Luongo – Odds are pretty good it will be old Bobby Lou considering the fact that Cory Schneider earned the last start. (Source for both: Inside Pittsburgh Sports.)

Likely Pittsburgh starter: Marc-Andre Fleury – It looks like the status quo has been restored in the Penguins net. At least for now. (Source for both: Inside Pittsburgh Sports.)

Buffalo @ Washington

Likely Buffalo starter: Ryan Miller – No surprise here. (Source: John Vogl.)

Likely Washington starter: Michal Neuvirth (Source: Corey Masisak.)

Ottawa @ Carolina

Likely Ottawa starter: Brian Elliott – He had a rough one against the Flyers, but it was against the Flyers, after all. (Source: Silver Seven Sens.)

Likely Carolina starter: Cam Ward – (Source: Canes Country.)

Florida @ Atlanta

Likely Florida starter: Tomas Vokoun (Source: Florida Sun-Sentinel.)

Likely Atlanta starter: Ondrej Pavelec – It appears to be his turn in the rotation. (Source: Chris Vivlamore.)

7:30 PM ET game

St. Louis @ Detroit

Likely St. Louis starter: Jaroslav Halak – He needs to get things together despite the fact that this is going to be a tough November. Detroit won’t make it any easier. (Source: Jeremy Rutherford.)

Likely Detroit starter: Jimmy Howard – The Red Wings aren’t messing around against their division rivals at home. (Source: Winging it in Motown.)

8:00 PM ET game

Anaheim @ Minnesota

Likely Anaheim starter: Curtis McElhinney – Jonas Hiller started last night in Dallas and lost, so with less than 24 hours between games, my best guess is that the Ducks’ backup will receive the start.

Likely Minnesota starter: Niklas Backstrom – He’s been playing some fantastic hockey lately and is especially tough to beat at home. (Source: Minnesota Wild.)
