I think that Redden will be demoted to Hartford. I don’t mind Rozsival, but he is obviously not worth his 5 million cap hit. I think that the Rangers can trade Rosi, but it might have to be in a package. Lets face it most teams in the league just don’t want a D for 5 million unless they are young and worth their salary. We might be stuck with Rosi for the next two years, but a team like Tampa might trade for him if they are in the playoff run this year if we package him in with another player like a prospect, which I would hate, but I think it’s the only way to get rid of Rozsival. We always have to keep in mind that the trade makes sense for the other team and in Rozsivals or Reddens case it’s a pretty hard sell! To trade Rozsival we have to hope that a team with a decent amount of cap room are pushing hard for a playoff spot this year. Then they would have his salary on their hands for only one more season, which could make it worth trading for him from their perspective.
It’s tough to get the team you want in a cap era unless you get lucky and draft most of them. Even then it’s almost impossible to keep them all in the long run. We really have to hope that the young centers in our system can make a huge impact because that’s what were missing the most at this point and it’s almost impossible to land one via free agency for less than 6 million dollars.

So who do you think moves to Hartford? Redden or Rozsival?
The article mentions Rozsival but I don’t dislike him as a defender. Though both of their cap hits are ridiculous.
Do you think either one can play well enough to become trade bait?

I can’t complain with the cap hit. I would be an idiot for doing so! Sorry, but I get defensive when numbers like 5.5 million are being thrown around from inside sources. I think we will be a contender in 3 seasons from now when the bad money (Rosi, Drury) falls off the books. Hopefully sooner! We still need a legit number 1 center and I know the Rangers keep talking about Brad Richards. I’m glad I don’t have to boo him now on opening night!I really don’t hate a particular player it’s the cap hit that makes me hate the idea of the player if that makes sense. Every fan has a right to be that way. I was just high fiving people on the other side of my office. I have to admit I am pretty pumped now that the cap hit is accurate.
