I can never forgive NBC for discontinuing the 2008 Eastern Conference Final game 6 OT for pre-race coverage of the Kentucky Derby - that's PRE-race, sappy, buildup coverage of a 90-sec horsie run when the Ottawa-Buffalo series was about to end. As far as I am concerned NBC, go ahead and show the irrelevant American big-market teams while I continue to ignore you.

Why are you amazed that we want to see our favorite teams. I understand why the Preds will never be the game of the week but it doesn't make me a clown or bozo for asking for it. In fact by voicing that I want to see the Preds lets the execs know that there may be an audience for them. It probably won't help but if I say nothing then everyone will keep thinking that there is no market for hockey in Nashville, when in fact there is. It is a great hockey city. We love the Preds, sell out many games, always meet the attendance minimum for revenue sharing.

I agree totally with those that have said the NBC coverage is a joke. That's perhaps kind. You cover hockey like football or baseball with horrible stupid time filling stories and announcers that are not just biased but talk about anything but what is on the ice. You know there's an audience because of the Olympics. That means, look for good match ups NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE and your audience will come and build.
Oh yeah, I'll be watching games, just will not be on the peacock network.

Well I'm guessing there are no Canadian teams because they don't usually play on Sunday afternoons. The Nucks and Habs each have one early Sunday game and at least the Nucks one is at 2 PST. I assume the other four teams are similar. Don't know though since I don't follow the Sens or Oils and I despise the Lames and Laffs. Besides, I'm pretty sure at least two Canadian teams (one at 4 and one at 7) are scheduled to play every Saturday for CBC's HNIC. I think you'd find most Canadians would never watch the game on NBC unless it was the only option. It's just really sub par coverage.
I don't think Canadian teams would bring in good ratings anyways. Isn't Sunday afternoon coverage more aimed at the super casual fan? Aren't they the kind of person who would just turn it on to see Crosby, Ovie, the Wings or 20 cent and Toews? The amazing thing is that they're even bothering to pretend they might air the Tampa game over the Pens v Caps one.

I'm still amazed at all the clowns that want to see the Ducks or Oilers or Coyotes or Preds on NBC.....NBC wants RATINGS! No one wants to watch those teams except you bozos. Do you see ABC/NBA showing the Memphis Grizzlies or NJ Nets...? Ah...NO! Does FOX/MLB show the Kansas City Royals or Florida Marlins??? NO! The networks show the big cities with the best teams. That equals ratings! Stop whining...PLEASE!

Just like ESPN, NBC has decided to ignore us west coast NHL viewers and have us prevent our teams (lifelong suffering Kings fan here) from hosting a home game on an over-the-air national television network. What? 3 pm Eastern is "too late" for you guys at the network? Spare me the excuse. I get annoyed and tired of the stupid east coast people who complain during baseball season that "10 pm is too late for us to watch a west coast team play." Well, stupid, that's your damn fault for living on the east coast in the first place. Move out here and you get all the games done by 10 pm or earlier (sometimes later but its not like any of your east coast games end early anyways). Anyhow, good job NBC, make us have breakfast just to watch hockey instead of opening up a cold one. Can't blame the NHL for this since they have no control over what time and network you guys want to have.
