Good for Dallas. The Stars organization has been nothing but amicable to Modano, and so has their fans.
Although he was there to raise the cup, he has done nothing lately. It’s as if he retired a couple seasons ago, and just shows up for the exercise.
Dallas is going in a new and brighter direction, and the fans deserve it.
A losing hockey team in Texas, is a dying hockey team in Texas. Why do we have a hockey team in Texas again?

MaryT, obviously your statements of “SHOVE IT” should be directed to the Stars organization, not the fans. I will be at the home opener wearing a Modano #90 jersey. No one in Dallas is happy about what happened, but this isn’t all roses. You’re getting a player who decided he wasn’t going to go to practice and only play in games. I doubt that’s going to fly in Detroit, and I hope he has a renaissance season. People in Dallas will be cheering for him, but not the red wings.

You go girl! Stupid, stupid, stupid… Niewy and the Stars! They let the last franchise player in the NHL go… highest American all points leader… He made the Stars and they won’t offer him a one year deal to really retire in Dallas… stupid Stars. I was a 3 years season ticket holder when the Stars won the cup and now I’m retired and live in Las Vegas and subscribe to NHL Center Ice, so I don’t miss Stars games… well, now I’ll watch every Detroit Red Wings games and to hell with the Stars! I hope Mo & the Wings stick it to the stars each & every game this season!

I am a Modano fan and I hope that he takes it to Newendyck(sp). Some friend/teammate he turned out to be. Throw your former teammate to the wolves because you’re some big front office man. Just like is the real work world there is no longer any type of loyalty. Screw the stars.

Stars loss is the Wings gain. So what if his wife has something to say about it? It’s a free country, she’s allowed to say anything she wants. I think I’ll join in with Mrs. Modano and give a big “SHOVE IT” to Dallas and their fans.
