I'm sick of seeing Holland lumped in with this Kovi deal, the long term deals that Holland made have the players going until they're 40, which is not an unreasonable number. Zetterberg and Franzen both have the potential to be incredibly valuable at the end of their contracts, and have every intention of playing hard til the end. Kovi's deal was complete bull and everybody knows it, whether or not he actually makes it to 44 (which he won't seeing as he's already having shoulder issues), the incredibly heavy front loading of his contract has made it clear that this was made to circumvent the cap and nothing more.

Bringing up "cheating" is completely wrong in this situation though. Because as even Burke admits, it's NOT cheating. If it was cheating, it would have been struck down a long time ago, for example with the Briere deal.
I agree with your point though - if any team should be taking advantage of this, it's the Maple Leafs and their endless cash reserves. Even Lou said it was wrong - but it didn't stop him from doing it because everyone else is.
