Often overlooked in the awful Patrick Roy to the Avalanche deal is that the Canadiens ALSO sent Mike Keane to Colorado. With his retirement, I officially need to find a new favorite player…

Keane was one of my favorite players to watch while growing up. He defines what it means to work hard and I’ll take that over anything else any day. Congrats on a very long and successful career Mike!

Keane was fantastic for the Moose. He taught many a young guy what it means to be a pro hockey player. He is by no means a Hall of Fame guy, but nevertheless he’s a guy that EVERY GM in the NHL would have wanted on their team. Enjoy your retirement!
