why're we suddenly bringing up queens? bobby won't fit anywhere in their team imo. back to ducks, i think they'll offer him a longer contract worth a bit more, not by much, but if he takes it, we'd have a quality player signed for a while, probably during his prime, but even if he rejects, our compensation would be quite a handsome one, so i'm happy both ways.

$10 mil per???? that's crazy, and it would cost 4 first round draft picks, not a first and third at that level. Any hope they can work something out with the Rangers. Marc Staal would fill a huge hole on the blueline for the Ducks, and the Rangers need scoring more then D? Maybe get them to ship back Ryan Callahan too to take a spot on the wing.

Now that the Kings are out of the Kovy sweepstakes, they should offer Ryan a contract that the Ducks either could not match or would hurt their cap space for years to come.
I am thinking something like 7 years, $70 million.
It would be worth losing a 1st and 3rd to get Ryan in his prime, and that would be in line with Kopitar's deal.
