		<description><![CDATA[Tampa Bay was poised to defend the Stanley Cup the very next season but unfortunately, the lockout occurred.
When play began the year after that - The Lightning were the hardest hit by the new Salary cap, which essentially destroyed the Stanley Cup Champions.
Add to that the laughing stock ownership of Oren Koules and Len Barrie, there was no stopping the downward spiral.
Thankfully, the Lightning now have Jeff Vinik as owner and Stevie Y at the helm, leading the team back to respectability.]]></description>
