We would have been wiser to sign him for $3.5 – $4 mil per year. A defenceman who battles in the corner, fights to create momentum, plus a keen slap shot on the power play has some salt. Problem: Inconsistent and emotional. Not really calm under pressure and did not show a winner’s attitude to push the team forward to really win.
