Round 1 – 21th overall
Detroit Red Wings – Riley Shehan
6’1″, 202 lbs., C, Notre Dame(CCHA)
His draft stock dropped a little bit after a dip in production at Notre Dame, but Shehan gives the Red Wings a sizable prospect. Being that it’s the Red Wings, chances are fans will have to watch him wear another sweater for … oh, I don’t know, 6-10 years.

Maybe not the sexy pick that an Etem or Tinordi would have been, however, it’s a safe pick and it’s a good bet that Sheahan will one day play in Hockeytown after several years of development. The Wings’ seem to do well in rounds 2-7 and there’s a lot of quality players left.
