As far as Housley, he was good, but I don't think he is good enough to go over some guys still waiting on the ballot. He was a great American defender; but at the same time no Stanley Cups and no Norris Trophies hurt his cause.
As far as the Women, they get two additional spot NOT INCLUDED in the four spots of the NHL players. To include them in the top-four is nice, but it's something that is not necessary since the women get their own spot. (Source: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/story/2009/03/31/hhf-female-rules.html) Personally, that's why I left the likes of Granato and James out. They have their tickets pretty much punched in my opinion with the two extra spots for female players.

While I agree more or less with the selections & analysis your bloggers did.
Two things that irked me.
They seemed tunnel visioned on forwards.
Phil Housley gets 1 vote?
Here is a man who is 2nd all time in U.S. born points. Was at 1 point, 1st in that category before being passed by Modano...all while doing the majority of it as a defenseman. He is less than 200 pts behind your other HOF appointed names of Gilmour & Oates...again, as a defenseman for the majority of his career.
I suspect he gets in ahead of 1 or both of these two.
Women in the HOF. You have 2 votes for Cammi Granato. Thats two observant bloggers. What about the other 8? Whats their excuses for missing the fact that females can be selected into the Hall based on their credentials in the womens game & not sized up to the mens game anymore?? There are TWO spots alotted for female players. Your entire committee of 10 only picked ONE for 2 votes. The outright omission of Angela James by not just the two who picked a female, but the other 8 as well is borderline sad & pathetic. These are supposed to be hockey bloggers, yet they dont even know about the girl who was once coined the "Wayne Gretzky of womens hockey" & was still playing well into the 90s??? Baffling.
your panel did OK. But the lack of respect for Housley, or knowledge of women's hockey puts into question their true knowledge of the game.
