That being said, I’m greatly impressed with both of their play. The Flyers started the season with Emery in net and Boucher as the backup. With Philadelphia’s history with Boucher, many (including me) winced at the idea that Boucher would be minding the net again.
If, at the beginning of the season, you told me that Brian Boucher and some dude named Michael Leighton would be vying for the starting goalie position in game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals I would have laughed at you. However, here we are. Kudos to both of them for shocking us all, and best of luck to Leighton tonight!
