Hiring Yzerman seems now like an obviously good decision, and I doubt it took any tampering on Bettman’s part.
Like you said, if the guys smart enough to become a millionaire and get into the inner circle of the NHL, then he’s obviously not a dumb ass. Everyone knows Yzerman wanted to be a GM. There were rumors of him going to Minnesota. And obviously if the guy got to where he is now, he’s got to know at least a thing or two about hockey, right?
