I know that’s still a relatively new fangled thing for you Sharks fans to figure out, but I trust you will some day.

The Sharks fans are stupid to boo Campbell.

1 - He wasn't very important to us.
2 - He is the THIRD D-Man on his own team.
3 - We wound up with a better offensive D-Man as a result

I'm embarrassed every time I hear our fans boo him.

The two gentleman above covered it quite well. Add in to it a summer of him jerking the fan base around, his deal with Chi being out there before July 1st, (which pissed off a lot of people), and his assertions that he LOVED SJ but really wanted to be closer to his family, (and wasn’t just looking for more money), and you have the perfect recipe to upset a very passionate fan base.
We’re very aware that Boyle’s an upgrade and we love him. We’re all glad Campbell is gone. We don’t want him back. He was a waste of teal space and it costs us a first rounder to get him (and Bernier) Campbell jerked us around and we’re just making sure he knows it.
Besides, booing him is pretty hilarious. No one expects it and then “Boooooooooo.”

As a Sharks season ticket holder, a little perspective: We’ve done this before. Ed Belfour, Teemu Selanne…. if they bring you in via trade and you decide you want to be elsewhere and sign with another team in the offseason, then the fans here make it very clear to not let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. I think you have to be here to understand — Sharks fans are extremely passionate and loud, looking for any reason to cheer or boo. Campbell seemed like a nice enough guy. Fans here just want to make sure he understands that when he left, he lost any appreciation we had for him. Sharks fans just love having a villain to go after.

Brian Campbell was brought to the Sharks in hopes of improving the team. He became the best puck moving defensman they ever had. He even scored a brilliant spinorama goal. He lived with Joe Thornton at the time and the fans loved him. They chanted “SIGN HIM! SIGN HIM!” at the games. Than the playoffs came and he totally pooped the bed. He was a. Non-factor in the Calgary series and in Dallas he did even worse. In game 3 he gave up the turnover that was the GWG. Then he did that infamous 4OT penalty which was terrible. So yeah, i’d think Sharks fans would be mad at him.

They aren’t over his penalty in the 4th OT vs Dallas in 2008.
