My votes would have been 1) Miller 2) Crosby 3) Sedin.
Crosby carried the Penguins this year as M-A Fleury and Malkin had poor showings. Ovechkin had a great statistical season, but that’s what the Art Ross and Richard are for. Looking at the strong seasons from Semin, Green, Backstrom, and pretty much everyone else on the Caps, I think it’s hard to make an argument that Ovechkin was the most valuable to his team.

The fact that Miller and Bryzgalov arent in the mix is criminal. Ovechkin may have has his best statstical year (in terms of PPG), but it wasn’t his most valuable one. Crosby, Miller, Sedin, and Bryzgalov were all more important to their teams this year than Ovechkin.
