Chara’s running around doing whatever he wants to the Sabres because he’s wearing a full cage and doesn’t have to worry about retaliation. That’s not right.”
Correction 1: Players in the AHL have mandatory visors and they have more fights than the NHL does every year.
Correction 2: Chara is running around doing whatever he wants to the Sabres, because he is 6’9″ 250+lbs and plays a mean style. Not too many like him in the show, perhaps Boogard if he ever learned to play hockey and or skate.

I think phasing in visors is a good idea. I have a problem with no-touch icing. I like watching the defensive team actually having to hustle to get the icing call. There really aren’t that many injuries on icings.

Laperriere wasn’t the only one…a Predator also took one in the noggin last night against the Hawks. Blood everywhere too.

I completely disagree, Matt. Laperriere even says himself, he will fight as much, but he will take off his helmet. That’s the honorable thing to do, if you are still going to fight. Though I do agree that cages give some guys a feeling of invincibility, I don’t think visors do the same. I’d be glad to see them mandated.
