Video: Thomas Vanek injured in 1st period

Apr 17, 2010, 3:05 PM EDT

The Sabres were dealt a tough blow in the first period against the Bruins, when Thomas Vanek went down with what appeared to be a knee injury. The team is reporting it as a “lower body injury” so who knows.

Here’s the video:

Two handed slash to the knee when he’s nearly in alone on Rask. 2 minute penalty for Boychuk and Vanek’s out for the rest of the game. Good trade if you’re a Bruins fan huh?
That play was the turning point of the game and it is a complete joke. The Bruins are rewarded for a cheap shot play that takes out the Sabres best forward, and the reward is tying the series.
That’s not a 2 minute penalty. It’s a 5 minute major and a game misconduct and no suspension.

This is why hockey can’t be taken seriosly the Refs don’t call the game properly maybe we need a new commisioner of hockey? Look at the Pittsburg game another attemt to injure. Well we still have Miller until a player “accidently” takes him out.
