Matt Ellis gives Sabres 2-0 lead

The first goal was a bout of bad luck for Tuukka Rask, but this one is on him. The Sabres’ grinders made a few nice passes and Matt Ellis sent a backhand that beat Rask who was out of position to make the save.

Just a moment ago Tomas Vanek was taken hard into the boards at the end of an odd-man rush. He was shaken up on the play but there isn’t any word on his condition just yet. The Sabres received a two minute powerplay for the infraction. If the Bruins cannot kill this penalty, they’re in a world of trouble.
Actually, considering their scoring troubles, they might already be in big trouble against the Sabres.
