Nicklas Backstrom gives Caps 2-1 lead

Apr 15, 2010, 9:04 PM EDT

Perhaps I should save all judgments for after games so I don’t jinx people … as much. It didn’t take long for the Washington Capitals to take a third period lead as Nicklas Backstrom slammed home a lose puck to give them a 2-1 lead.

Both of the home teams lead 2-1 early in the third period. Stay tuned for more updates. Don’t be surprised if the Sabres clamp their game down, though, as they are apparently 30-0-0 (!) when they lead going into a third period. Yeah, they’re pretty good.

Corvo sucks as a defenseman. He did not challenge winning goal.
Caps are jinxed, no matter who wears the jersey.
I have seen this movie before.
