“Either the Rangers or Philadelphia will make the playoffs
Brian is right, it is still possible for the Rangers to make it if they beat Philadelphia…

If Philadelphia wins they are the 7 seed because they are assured to have 2 more wins than Montreal.
If the Rangers win, they are the 8 seed because after tying the Habs in wins, they lost the season series to the Canadiens.
Boston is assured the 8 seed.

better check your sources. If philly wins, they are number 7 by virtue of more wins than montreal
