1st of all...why use MSNBC to channel fans to a subscriber line on ESPN.com. Seems silly, boorish, self-injurious...
Any way, the story on Ovechkin today opened up how generous he can be...otherwise, he's just another big talented kid, that's quite priviledged. Hopefully, he'll take roots as a family man, but I don't see it...mostly a Russian celebrity...and maybe here in the US too. Ovie won't win the Stanley Cup 1/3 as many times as Sid, because Sid is a center, and has the vision that a hall of famer center needs. Ovechkin does not have that vision. The recent series with Montreal showed that....most of his "shots" were blocked by defensemen...which could have been passed instead...I correlate his skills to basketball: Wilt, Barkley...monster skills, but not a good enough team player to bring them up during playoff runs...
