Boothie.jpgDavid Booth, after working so hard to come back from a devastating
concussion five months ago, will have his season end after another
concussion.
From Steve Gorten of the Sun Sentinel:

Coach Pete DeBoer wouldn’t declare it so today, saying only that
“it’s a strong probability.” But you could tell DeBoer knows that, and
that even if doctors somehow cleared him to return, he wouldn’t feel
comfortable putting Booth back on the ice this soon after his second
concussion in five months.

There’s not much else to say, other than to wish Booth a speedy and
safe recovery. He’s a promising and talented young player and it’s a
shame this season has gone the way it has for him. Coach DeBoer doesn’t
want to hear how it’s Booth’s fault for having his head down, either.

“It’s not as easy as just saying, ‘Hey, keep your head up on the
ice,'”
DeBoer said. “The way David plays, he’s aggressive, he goes after the
puck. The play last night, he’s making an extra effort, reaching for it.
When he lifts his head up, there’s a guy there. It’s not something you
can talk to a guy about that he can fix. That’s how he plays and
unfortunately, he’s had bad luck and a couple of concussions because of
it.”
