The Sharks crappy play began re-olympics. Tho the record doesn’t reflect it as a die hard fan I’ve see every minute and have since cow palace.
Whats going on right now is a mental breakdown at the team level. The team has lost its drive and is trying to fix individuals. This is the coaches problem – and I’m really disgusted its taken McClellan this long just to recognize it. My suggestions:
Sit Nabby for 4 games. By keeping him out it will shake the foundation of this team as a whole.
Go do a team building day in the mountains. These guys are all trying to do it themselves. one man army style. Flashes of effort by an individual aint gonna help. Look at phoenix. You can’t tell who’s on the ice, they are playing to cohesively and in sync.
Back to basics. go to a pond somewhere and watch the kids play to remember what its like. They need some joy in the game they play. The pressures of the Olys, the pressures of million dollar contracts et al…
This team has 2 weeks to get this turned around and resync their minds to playoff intensity or its gonna be 4 and done yet again.
Just to vent. I’m tired of the passes in the feet, the skating in circles or simply standing still… the poor effort, the stick play instead of moving the bodies 1 step more. And Blake. what a waste as captain. Besides his bad penalties and yearlong mediocre play, why hasn’t their been a team meeting noted in the media? Where IS boyle, blake, marleau and the leaders of this team? do they find this acceptable? Don’t they have a clue?

Bottom line with this group: No leadership in the dressing room to get stuff like this taken care of. We need to clear this thing out and start over, rather than banging our heads against the wall with the same group of underachievers year after year. This is ridiculous.
