I’m not a fan of pepople getting hurt, but it’s hockey. I was at the Devils game last night and the same type of hit happened to Zach Parise, only he got up.

Ovies hit was dirty. If you have played hockey, you konw that the moment you are stopping, and are therefore “on top” of your skates, all it takes is a tap to send you over. This type of “tap” is taught to be dirty from the pee wee level up to the pros.
The most agravating part of the whole thing to me, was the announcers rection. NBC, you have done a bad thing putting Milbury in the booth. I can not understand how Milbury has a job after LAUGHING about a player getting hurt! Broken shoulder and ribs, and Milbury luaghs! Put Milbury on the ice with me for a play, lets see what his response is…

Wow, can you please just shut up, I’m guessing your an adult, so be mature and act like one. “Its too bad he made it home in one piece”. Its HOCKEY, this stuff is going to happen. Its not like he had anything personal against him and was TRYING to break him, he was just caught up in the game. Real mature calling him “Obitchkin”. I’m a wings fan, I live in Michigan, and no matter what goes down I support them. I agree with Fectaeu, seriously, if you play hockey you WILL get hurt. One of my friends broke a rib while playing, and he just shrugged it off and went untreated for months, which probably wasn’t smart, but jeez, you gotta be tough. It was just a little nudge, get over it. Campbell could’ve just fallen and been fine, it was just a coincidence he wasn’t, so your going to blame Ovechkin? Grow up you guys, its not a big deal, its a tough game, therefore, you gotta BE tough in order to play it, and I’m 13 and a GIRL, It’s saddening that I’m the only one (besides Fecteau) that has my facts straight.

So pushing someone with a little nudge and the pushee’s skate gets caught and he falls… that deserves a 10-15 game suspension?

I also saw the game, and the hit. Ovechkin deserved everything he got and more. The dismissive attitude by Milbury and Pierre what’s-his-name is inexcusable. What they arae apparently not smart enough to realize is that players today are bigger, stronger, and faster than ever–and the equipment allows for much greater impact and damage on these kinds of hits, much like the case with football.

I watched the game, saw the hit that injured Campbell, and believe that Ovechkin deserved a major penalty. Ovechkin’s claim that he only “pushed” Campbell is correct but he pushed him from behind and when your that close to the boards he should have held up. Ovechkin’s history of cheap hits – he has three game misconducts this year – should figure into his suspension. I’m also disappointed in Mike Milbury who made comments at the intermission that hockey is “too soft” nowadays because referees are calling penalties on these types of plays. I guess a broken collarbone on a cheap shot counts as soft these days. Milbury is just another talking head who wants to create controversy so people will pay attention to him – since he can’t get a job in the NHL anymore.

Mike Dilberry and Pierre Poopoo sure had Obitc_kin’s full speed shove to the back pegged. The little russian should get another 10-15 games for his perfidy. Too bad he made it home safe.
If Obitc_kin stays in the game Quinvelle might have had a bounty on him by the third,knowing what he would have known by then.
Again, too bad he got home in one piece.
